Analysis of Lumen Maintenance of the High-Power pcLED bulbs produced in the Unorganized Sector under Tropical Conditions

This study investigates the performance of alpha and beta white pcLEDs in tropical conditions using the LM-80 lumen measuring method. The research aims to identify the differences between the two types of LEDs and their adaptability for specific uses. The study uses the TeSUL experimental setup to analyze lumen degradation trends in both types. The LM-80 lumen measuring method estimates the trajectory of lumen deterioration after 6000 hours, providing insights into future changes in lumen maintenance. The study also discusses the differences between alpha and beta LEDs, with alpha having a separate driver circuit, more cost, a one-year guarantee and low heat dissipation, while beta has a integrated driver circuit with shorter guarantee lasting only six months, less cost and high heat dissipation. The findings can help consumers make informed decisions on LED products, especially in countries with lower GDP levels. Future research could expand the experimental model to analyze lumen maintenance changes over a larger time span and explore different environmental conditions.
