Precision Identification in Internet of Things Systems: The Design of a Chipless RFID Tag with 12 Bits of Data

The Internet of Things (IoT) and other industrial applications that need remote identification, sensing, and tracking might benefit greatly from chipless Radio Frequency Identification (RFID). This study introduces an innovative planar chipless RFID tag, designed for employment in IoT systems. The implementation involves the utilization of multiple T -shaped slow-wave structures that function as miniature reflecting resonators. , Tag exhibiting various pattern configurations were fabricated on a substrate of Rogers RO4350B, and their respective radar cross-section (RCS) responses were examined. The proposed tag demonstrates superior miniaturization and spectral coding efficacy, and the Q-factor and coding strength exhibited high values, suggesting that the employed technique had the potential to generate chipless tag with superior performance.
