Food Optimizing for Patients with Kidney Failure Using Evolution Strategies Algorithm

Kidney disease is a global health concern, affecting 1 in 10 people and causing 5–10 million deaths annually. It can be diagnosed through GFR and albuminuria, with increased albuminuria leading to kidney failure. Kidney disorders include acute and chronic types, with acute kidney failure being a severe concern. A low-protein diet is essential for managing kidney failure, while chronic kidney disease requires a low-protein diet. The Evolution Strategies (ES) algorithm can create personalized dietary recommendations for kidney disease patients. This research aims to use the ES algorithm to optimize personalized dietary menus for kidney disease patients, focusing on five stages of kidney failure: normal kidney with risk (type 1), mild to moderate kidney impairment (type 2), chronic kidney failure (type 3), kidney impairment transitioning to dialysis (type 4), and acute kidney failure with the need to do dialysis (type 5). Based on the experiment, for every type of kidney failure, we need different types of ES to give the best recommendation.
