Intelligent Transport System (ITS) for Healthcare: Smart Ambulance

While Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) have already produced considerable advancements in traffic management and safety conditions, its direct application in the healthcare sector opens up new opportunities for improving ambulance services. We will propose an ambulance directing system based on hospital medical equipment in this paper. We hope to reduce patient treatment delays, maximize resource usage, and lower the risks associated with eventual patient diversion owing to a lack of adequate medical equipment by addressing this critical component. We will rely on the SVM method to classify and on Google Maps to choose the best routes. The results showed a high accuracy in the classification, reaching 100 percent, and the use of Google Map greatly facilitated the process of choosing the most appropriate routes. In the future, we aim to expand the data set and use Artificial Intelligence methods.
