Control of Brushless Doubly-Fed Generator Using complex Coefficient PI Regulators

Accurate brushless doubly fed induction machine (BDFIM) control is considered as a good alternative to traditional generators. In this study, a cascaded field oriented control based on complex coefficient PI regulators is investigated. The design of this control in the complex domain using both the positive and negative frequency information allows a triple objective: a decrease in the system dimension by half, a reduction in the control's scheme and a better stability margin of the control system as a whole. Simulations in MATLAB/SIMULINK environment are used in order to compare the effectiveness of the results with classic PI controller field-oriented control.
