Exploring the Use of Digital Tools in a Technology and Change-Driven World in Hungary and Poland in the Light of the Pandemic

In today's accelerated and technology-driven world, digital tools and methods have become indispensable for businesses, including small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The purpose of business organisations has not changed. While maximising profits must be accompanied by a drive to strengthen competitiveness, today's crises and adverse events continue to present new challenges to business organisations, making survival and survival a primary motivation for many. The global economy is affected by a number of positive and negative trends and megatrends. Among the more positive trends are digitalisation and the green transition, although the latter is driven by an adverse natural change, global warming and the greenhouse effect. Among the negative trends, the COVID-19 pandemic [1], the energy crisis, inflationary pressures or the economic consequences of the Russia-Ukraine war stand out. All of these have posed significant challenges for organisations, which must use all means at their disposal to overcome these processes. Many businesses have not found the right tools to respond, while digitisation and digital solutions have become an alternative for all. This study explores the state of digitalisation and digital readiness among businesses. In the literature section, he looks at how digital tools can help a business organisation. Following the literature review, it will present primary research findings to shed light on the practical side through the operations of the business actors interviewed.
