The Place and Role of Research, Development and Innovation Projects in the Life of Hungarian and Polish Micro, Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises After the Pandemic

The 21st century has brought many challenges to the surface and has presented new challenges to all economic actors. This is no different for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises. Regardless of the size category they belong to, they face the same challenges of everyday life. But new challenges require new solutions, which can only be met through innovation projects. The 21st century has also brought a significant increase in project orientation, the importance of managing tasks as projects or integrating them into projects. However, research, development and innovation projects differ significantly from traditional projects. They are more strongly influenced by novel circumstances and tasks, which makes it very important that they are managed with the appropriate scientific background and professionalism. The aim of our study is to assess the background aspects of RDI project management in Hungarian and Polish enterprises, to explore the perceptions and opinions that lead to the success, effectiveness and efficiency of these projects through the results of a primary research conducted in Hungary and Poland.
