Application of Digital Monitoring System Based on Internet of Things in Intelligent Control and Management of Methanol Reforming Hydrogen Fuel Cell

Fuel cells mainly use hydrogen, natural gas, methanol, etc. Due to the limitation of region, availability of hydrocarbon resources and other conditions, some users can't adopt the most economical hydrogen production technology of natural gas reforming, and instead use electrolysis and methanol hydrogen production technology. As a vehicle-mounted fuel, hydrogen has some disadvantages, such as poor safety, low storage efficiency and strict requirements for hydrogen storage devices. How to safely and efficiently produce hydrogen on-line is one of the key issues to solve the popularization and application of fuel cell vehicles. In this paper, a digital detection system based on the Internet of things (IoT) is proposed in combination with the dynamic power demand of the whole vehicle for fuel cells under actual working conditions. Through the localized processing and calculation of the data collected by the IoT, the problems can be analyzed in real time, which is used to assist the intelligent control of methanol reforming hydrogen fuel cells. For the fuel cell system for hydrogen production from methanol reforming on vehicle, a reasonable hydrogen supply management strategy can reduce methanol consumption and improve the efficiency of the whole vehicle system without affecting the vehicle power performance, the service life of core components such as fuel cell and power cell.
