Microstrip Coupled Lines Crosstalk Reducing using Center Step Impedance Transmission Lines

Introduces the concept of a straightforward design and fabrication technique to enhance the reduction of crosstalk or isolation coefficient of microstrip coupled lines. The approach involves incorporating SITL at the center of microstrip coupled lines, intending to drive the isolation coefficient close to zero while enhancing the crosstalk of the coupled lines at the specified operating frequency. The investigations were performed at a 1 GHz frequency with a −10dB coupling coefficient on the FR- 4 substrate. The experimental results for traditional and the proposed coupled lines are compared. The experimental results indicate that the isolation/crosstalk coefficient was less than −30dB, and the crosstalk exceeded 40 dB for the SITL configuration.
