Optimal Tuning of 2DOF-PID Controllers Using Bat Algorithm

In this article, the BAT algorithm to find the optimum value of the 2DOF-PID controller and proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controllers. BAT algorithm is applied to search for the optimal parameters of the controllers, and responses of both controlled systems are compared. As the computer simulation results, it was found that the controller can control the plant to a desired value with the minimum integral time absolute error, rise time and disturbance effect. The tuned 2DOF-PID controller can track the set point with responses that outperform compared to the PID controllers.
