The Cognition and Practice of Low-carbon Lifestyle among Local Residents

The degradation of the natural environment poses a significant challenge to human quality of life. Developing a low-carbon economy is a crucial way to improve the ecological environment. In this study, we investigate the awareness and implementation of low-carbon lifestyles among residents of Chengdu, China using questionnaire surveys and community investigations. Further more, we develop a fuzzy comprehensive evaluation model to analyze residents’ behavioral consciousness towards low-carbon living based on statistical data. Our findings indicate that although residents demonstrate a strong awareness of low-carbon living, their participation level is low. We also identify personal factors as the primary influencer of low-carbon living through the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) model.
