Implementation of the Home Automation System by Using FPGA Platform

This paper will propose a system design by using FPGA platform to implement the home automatic system in temperature and humidity control. A typical automation system will be achieved by a MCU controller, sensors, actuators, and man-machine interface. In the proposed application, the system consists of a FPGA chip, a temperature and humidity sensor, servo/DC motor, stepper motor, buzzer, keypad, button switches, 7-segment LEDs, and an LCD display, and all modules, included top module and interfaces’ modules, will be implemented by the FPGA chip instead of MCU controller. Due to using motors to control air convection in the house, a better temperature and humidity can be performed. The details will be described in the following.
