Bluetooth Enabled Microcontroller-based Stimulator for Assessing the Electrical Activity of Muscles

Over the past three decades, stimulators have assumed a pivotal role in stimulating human muscles and nerves. Presently, computer-based electronic stimulators are widely employed for this purpose. These cutting-edge neuromuscular stimulators offer innovative opportunities for treating conditions such as hand, leg, and facial paralysis. One of the most important biomedical signals is Electromyography (EMG) signal. It is obtained from neuromuscular activities of our body. The evolution of functional status of skeletal muscles from EMG signal. Utilizing EMG and nerve conduction studies has proven to be invaluable in diagnosing a wide range of muscle and nerve disorders. By conducting an EMG test, medical professionals can accurately assess if muscles are properly responding to nerve signals, aiding in the identification of any abnormalities. EMG signal from human body can be obtained by using surface electrode and sensor. Also, the obtained EMG signal is amplified and digitalized using a Bluetooth module. The processed EMG signal is forwarded and plotted in the personal computer, signal is used for further processing and additional application.
