Validation of a Parameter Design methodology for Air-core two-coil WPT system with multi-resonant LC compensation

Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) possesses the revolutionary potential to replace traditional wired power transmission methods. WPT significantly enhances the usability of Electric Vehicle (EV) charging applications by facilitating the removal of obstacles within charging operations. This study demonstrates a wireless adapter that has been optimized for electric vehicle charging. This article offers a solution for optimizing the compensation network, with a particular emphasis on coil parameter specifications, its modelling, mutual inductance calculation air gap, coupling factor, and compensated basic multi-resonant LC compensation resonant network parameters calculations to reduce output voltage sensitivity and charging the EV. The proposed converter makes use of the energy from the AC grid to correct power factor while wirelessly charging the EV battery. The entire charging procedure consists of AC-DC conversion, DC-HFAC inversion, wireless power transfer, and HFAC-DC rectification. A prototype charger is constructed for a multi-resonant topology, and the MATLAB/Simulink model is used to evaluate the performance of the optimized resonant network.
