A Novel Technique for DVR to Mitigate Voltage Sag Issue in Distribution System

The dynamic voltage restorer's (DVR) control method has a significant impact on how well the device performs. The DVR is used in distribution systems to handle the voltage sag problem. This paper proposes a flexible control strategy based on the synchronous reference frame (SRF) theory for DVR to handle the problem of voltage sag for sensitive loads in the distribution system. The DVR is linked in series to the load bus. Sag detection in DVR is improved by the use of a PI-based automatic switch. Both balanced and imbalanced sag can be stabilized using the provided control mechanism. In this work, a successful technique for managing the DC link capacitor voltage of the DVR is also provided. The effectiveness of the suggested control mechanism for the DVR is evaluated using Matlab/Simulink. Results from simulations show that the suggested control method for DVR to fix voltage sag is effective.
