Enhancing Performance of Image Data Transmission Over Cooperative VLC Network

Visible Light Communication (VLC) is a potentially intriguing emerging technology that offers an wide range of benefits for safe, low-power and high-speed communication. Cooperative communication in VLC can improve systems' robustness, range, and dependability, making them appropriate for distant users and in difficult indoor environments where line-of-sight (LoS) communication are blocked. In this paper on-off keying (OOK) modulation based communication is established for image data transmission between the end user. The decode-and-forward (DF) relaying technique is used in conjunction with maximum ratio combining (MRC) for cooperative communication to combine the signals at the desired destination. In this paper a comparative study is conducted for image data transmission over cooperative and non-cooperative VLC network using OOK and MRC diversity based on a few fundamental metric parameters.
