Internet of Things (IoT) based Interconnected Systems for Effective Disaster Management

The Internet of Things (IoT) operates as a network connecting computer devices, mechanical and digital machines, objects, or individuals. With distinctive system identifiers, it enables the transmission of data without necessitating direct interaction between humans or between computers and humans. Disasters profoundly affect urban sustainability, causing damage to infrastructure, harm to individuals, and temporary halts to various activities. Recent environmental changes, including climate shifts and population growth, contribute to the toll of natural disasters. Integrating technologies like IoT offers a comprehensive solution for urban challenges. It's because of flexibility, light-weight design, interoperability, and boasting heterogeneity. This paper highlights the value and importance of Iot in disaster management and investigates the recent research in this area. Emphasizing the primary research issues in this significant area of study, the paper concludes with methods to solve disasters using IoT.
