An IoT based autonomous outdoor patrol robot

Robot security guards which might have sounded like a science fiction until a few years ago has now become a reality due to the recent advancements in technology. The proposed research idea is to develop an IoT based Patrol robot with Autonomous Navigation which helps the police or security guard to perform dynamic, remote and autonomous surveillance of the surroundings during both the day and night. The robot is compact in size and omni-directional unlike conventional robots making it capable to move in both the longitudinal and lateral directions. It is fitted with a high-definition camera that provides real time live streaming of the environment that can be monitored and controlled remotely with a customized operator console by the respective police or security personnel on a console or their mobile phones.
