High Precision Pad and Pixelated TPC Technology Development for Electron Positron Collider

Time Projection Chamber (TPC) could be as a central high resolution tracker in the detector concepts on the electron-positron collider projects of International Linear Collider (ILC), Future Circular Electron and Positron Collider (CEPC and FCC-ee). A large, worldwide community of physicists is working to realize this exceptional physics program of energy-frontier collisions. The International Large Detector (ILD) is one of the proposed detector concepts at the ILC. In this concept, a large volume TPC is designed to embed in a high solenoid field with about 220 three dimensional points for continuous tracking and the single hit resolution better than 100μm in rϕ-direction along all drift length. From the last few years, a Large Prototype TPC in a 1.0 Tesla magnetic field, which allows to accommodate up to seven identical Micro Pattern Gaseous Detector (MPGD) readout modules of the near-final proposed design for this detector concept, has been built as a demonstrator at the 5GeV electron beam test at DESY, Hamburg. The performance of the drift velocity, the spatial resolution and the particle identification has been measured in several successful beam test campaigns with the three different readout concepts (Gas Electron Multiplier, Resistive Micromegas and GridPix). The pad readout is designed about 1mm×6mm and the pixelated readout is designed about 55μm×55μm or 110μm×110μm. Compared with the pad read-out, the pixelated readout option will obtain the better spatial resolution of single electrons, the very high detection efficiency in excellent tracking and good dE/dx performance. Also, Some related common technology R&D of UV laser tracks testing and the low power consumption ASIC chips were been developed. In this paper, we will present the track reconstruction performance results and summarize the next steps of the pad/pixelated TPC technology for the future electron positron collider.
