Hardware-Software co-design demonstrator for space applications on a Virtual Platform

This document presents a hardware-software co-design demonstrator which is executed both in a Virtual Platform composed by SystemC/TLM models, and an actual COTS development board, with the objective of exhibiting the benefits of using such a flow for fast prototyping, early design space exploration decisions and co-engineering of software and hardware. Several enhancements are implemented in the Virtual Platform, and several use cases representative of potential space applications are executed in the demonstrator both in the Virtual Platform and on the actual hardware platform. The co-execution allows to compare the metrics obtained on the platform with the actual metrics obtained on the hardware, illustrating the usefulness of the HW-SW co-design approach.
