Multi-Domain Channel Estimation in SM-OTFS for Beyond 5G Wireless Systems

Spatial Modulation (SM) combined with Orthogonal Time Frequency Space (OTFS) modulation has emerged as a promising communication technique for beyond 5G wireless systems. Efficient channel estimation is crucial to achieve reliable data communication in such systems. This paper implements Multi-domain channel estimation technique for Spatial Modulation-OTFS systems which operates in Delay-Doppler and angle domain for doubly dispersive channels. The work also emphasizes the importance of addressing the challenges specific to SM-OTFS, such as high-dimensional modulation and multi-path fading. The proposed system achieves thrice the spectral efficiency in comparison with the conventional SM techniques.
