Analysis of Public Awareness Regarding Utilities of Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV)

The major application of IoT is video surveillance systems used globally for monitoring homes, offices, and public and private properties. The prime component of such systems are cameras used for remote monitoring systems, popularly known as CCTV (Closed Circuit Television). CCTV systems can help deter criminal behavior and provide evidence in an incident by monitoring activity in real time. But the question arises here whether the data generated by CCTV cameras are secure from various attacks and if the CCTV footage is reliable enough to find any criminal activity. To answer these questions, a survey is conducted in the form of a questionnaire that is filled out by various users to see the effectiveness of CCTV cameras. The questionnaire is divided into 12 questions to assess the need for security and privacy of CCTV data.
