Design and Performance Enhancement of DGS Based Planar Antenna for UWB Wireless Communication

Designing a single planar antenna capable of resonating at multiple frequencies poses a significant challenge for antenna designers. The research study proposes a centre-fed microstrip patch antenna (MPA) to address this issue. By incorporating changes on the top radiating side and the ground, the antenna's overall effectiveness is enhanced drastically. The proposed ultra-wideband (UWB) antenna operates at a central frequency of 3.5 GHz and exhibits resonance at six frequencies, including 3/4.1/4.7/7/7.7 and 9.4 GHz.
