Experimental Analysis of Power Sharing in a Single-Input-Dual-Output-based Quasi-Z Source Resonant Converter

Conventional multiport resonant converters operate in two-stage power conversion, and frequency modulation is the mainstay of conventional load regulation techniques for traditional resonant converters. This paper proposes and analyzes the simultaneous charging of the batteries at equal and unequal magnetizing inductances of the high-frequency transformers (HFTs) operating with dual tank LLC Resonant in a single stage. The Quasi-Z source network (QZSN) was added with an LLC resonant converter named Quasi-Z source resonant converter (QZSRC) to achieve single-stage operation. The First Harmonic Approximation (FHA) method was employed in order to determine the parameters of the dual tank resonant circuit (DTRC) design. The impact of the magnetizing inductance-to-inductance ratio between two HFTs operated in parallel on the shifting of peak magnetizing current ad power-sharing was analyzed. All experiments are carried out at a constant frequency for wide load variations. Design details are discussed, and theoretical and experimental loss calculations are tabulated in detail.
