Constant Frequency Duty Cycle Controlled Inverter for Multi-Load Induction Cooking Applications

Induction heating is the most popular type of heating owing to several advantages like cleanliness, safety, fast response, and better control. Induction cooking (IC) is one of the several applications of Induction heating which is gaining momentum due to the rising price of gas fuels. In early stages single load inverter configuration was designed for domestic applications which are commercially available and inexpensive. Due to numerous benefits of IC, Multiple load IC systems are gaining popularity which necessitates the design of inverter configuration for such systems. This paper proposes a full bridge inverter capable of supplying five loads, which offers independent and linear control. The simulation is carried out in ORCAD PSpice and MATLAB SIMULINK software. Phase shift Control is incorporated to control the power of loads with an operating frequency of 30KHz. A prototype inverter of 3.25KW is simulated & implemented which offers an efficiency of 92.7%. The proposed topology can be extended for any number of loads by adding legs to the full bridge inverter
