ArchiMate’s Strengths and Weaknesses as EA Modeling Language: A Systematic Mapping Study

For firms to adapt to the quickly shifting business environment, enterprise architecture (EA) management is essential. The use of ArchiMate as an EA modeling language for creating and executing business strategies has grown. With a focus on versions 3.0 to 3.2, this study attempts to comprehensively map the body of knowledge regarding the advantages and disadvantages of utilizing ArchiMate in various organizational scenarios. This research examined the benefits and drawbacks of using ArchiMate as an Enterprise Architecture (EA) modeling language in a recent Systematic Mapping Study (SMS). Numerous recommendations have been suggested in order help organization considering usage of ArchiMate as their enterprise architecture modeling language. Conducting an SMS on ArchiMate can provide valuable insights into its advantages and weaknesses, as well as opportunities for further research and development. The SMS results provide insightful information for businesses looking to take use of ArchiMate’s advantages while resolving its drawbacks.
