Development of Automation of Operational Work of Railway Stations of Ukraine

The stages of implementation of computing equipment at railway stations are considered. The principle composition of the ACS is defined. The goals of the article are to trace changes in the composition of the technological functions of the ACS of the station during the use of the systems on the railway. The article analyzes the changes in the content of the components of automated systems that have occurred over the past fifty years. The main tasks of processing data about wagons, cargo, and creating documents for the operation of operational processes of stations, which were implemented in the first systems, are still relevant today. New tasks are solved in the general information system of the railway ACS VP UZ-E, which creates new information opportunities, but requires improvement of the interaction of subsystems. The station’s ACS functions remain unchanged in their technological basis. The practical result is that the nature of the station’s operation is not taken into account when developing the system. When developing and improving the station’s automatic control system, it is advisable to apply the principles of system analysis, namely to determine the sets and volumes of operations with control objects, abstracting from the nature of the station’s operation.
