Possibilities of the MUSIC Algorithm for WI-FI Positioning According to the IEEE 802.11az Standard

In the presented article, the algorithm for estimating the time of arrival using multiple signal classification (MUSIC) was studied, the distance range was estimated within the framework of the IEEE 802.11az standard. The result was achieved by simulating a network consisting of a mobile station (MS) and several access points and identifying it using the trilateration method. The main contribution of the article lies in the improved algorithm of the rangefinder and positioning of the MS for several iterations and signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). Based on the results of the experiments, the location errors from SNR, the number of repetitions of the training field (LTF), the number of spatial streams were estimated. The implementation of the advanced positioning system allows reaching pardons of positioning less than 10 cm.
