Business-IT Alignment in Cloud environment : Survey on the use of process mining

The problem of Business-IT alignment has been addressed by many researchers over the years, notably from the traditional and classic point of view of aligning Application and Business layers to make it easier for business users with no technical knowledge to use IT systems and meet their functional needs in a simple and efficient way. Then, with the emergence of cloud computing and the ultimate use of cloud resources and technologies, research on business and IT alignment was extended from the on-premises to the cloud environment. The subject has recently been taken up by researchers in the field of business process (BP), and several approaches have emerged, almost all based on the same CloudSocket architecture, which suffers from several limitations, including process automation and the formalization of methods using new technologies such as process mining. The main aim of this paper is not to define the problem of alignment between Business and IT, as this has already been addressed in our previous publications, but rather to discuss the possibility of using process mining technology to allocate resources in the cloud and so automate that alignment.
