IoT Based Intelligent Warehouse Monitoring and Alerting System

As industry 4.0 has commenced, technologies like the Internet of Things (IoT) are a major force in determining tomorrow. IoT devices have the ability to sense and observe their surroundings, disclose their condition, execute instructions, and perform an action based on the data they gather. The crucial roles it takes on are preventing damage and goods spoilage, improving asset management, inventory optimization, processing, and analysing collected da-ta to ensure safety, etc. An intelligent warehouse monitoring and alerting system help in carrying out these key roles in a warehouse efficiently. The pharmaceutical warehouses are more prone to various damage since they are not only sensitive to external contamination from micro-organisms and de-bris but also temperature, light, humidity, pressure, etc., and greatly affect consumerism. This means that many factors need to be considered when setting up a warehouse for pharmaceuticals. In this proposal, the monitoring is done with RFID for effective stock management and with various sensors for parameter observations. With various data collected from monitoring, alerts regarding any parameter/parameters crossing thresholds can be provided via the IoT application, LCD display, and buzzer so that safety is ensured and further damage is prevented.
