Green Methods of Larvae Control in Aquatic Environments: Using Solar Energy to Agitate Water

The transmission of vector-borne diseases is a major worry associated with the abundance of mosquito larvae in water bodies, raising serious questions about public health. This study investigates a novel strategy for reducing the number of mosquito larvae by using water agitators that are powered by photovoltaic energy. These agitators use solar energy to generate controlled turbulence in still water, which disturbs mosquito breeding grounds. The efficacy of this sustainable approach was assessed by a number of field tests. Findings show that the solar-powered water agitators significantly lower mosquito larvae populations, offering an economical and sustainable method of vector control. Furthermore, by minimising the requirement for chemical larvicides, this strategy lessens its negative effects on the environment and ensures long-term sustainability. By merging renewable energy technology with vector control strategies, this research highlights the potential to combat mosquito-borne diseases while promoting sustainability and ecological balance. This innovative approach serves as a valuable addition to integrated mosquito management practices, offering a promising solution for regions facing mosquito-related health challenges.
