Network Performance Measurement on Discord Server Regions with Voice Debugging

This research paper explores the quality of 4G network services provided by various cellular operators in Indonesia, including Telkomsel, ByU, IM3 Ooredo, 3, XL, LiveOn, AXIS, and Smartfren. It also examines the performance of Discord voice chat servers in Asia, specifically in Singapore, Japan, India, and Hong Kong. The study was conducted within the Discord gaming community server. The performance of service quality was evaluated using several methods: packet capturing with Wireshark for Quality of Service (QoS), Discord voice debugging, and the Mean Opinion Score (MOS) Extended E-Model. The results varied across different servers and operators. The highest ping was observed in Singapore (118.77 ms) and ByU (88.61 ms). The most decryption failures were found in Singapore (0.50) and Smartfren (0.32). The highest routing failures were recorded in Hong Kong (0.39) and Smartfren (0.67). The greatest pacer delay occurred in Japan (0.12 ms) and Telkomsel (0.14 ms). In terms of throughput, Japan had the highest value (134.12 Kbps), followed by Smartfren (121.20 Kbps). The highest packet loss rate was observed in Singapore (0.000333%) and ByU (0.00001%). The greatest delay was found in Singapore (19.72 ms) and Telkomsel (19.81 ms), while the highest jitter was recorded in Singapore (19.50 ms) and Telkomsel (20.10 ms). Finally, the MOS results showed that Singapore had the highest score of 3.755 and Telkomsel had a score of 3.750. This comprehensive study provides valuable insights into the performance of 4G network services and Discord voice chat servers in Asia.
