Resilience Improvement Strategy of Distribution Network in Water Project Based on Battery Energy Storage System

Traditional distribution network without power supply need to improve its resilience for operation safety.In order to enhance the ability of quickly recovering from extreme events for water project distribution network,resilience improvement strategy for distribution network based on battery energy storage system is proposed in this paper.Strategy proposed includes configuration optimization of battery energy storage systems and dispatch optimization of emergency power supplies. Configuration optimization of battery energy storage system before extreme events is based on battery energy storage system access points selection with the goal of maximizing the recovery of electrical energy for important loads.During the events uninterrupted power supply for important loads is achieved by quick transform to power supply of battery energy storage system.Minimizing recovery time of important loads after events is achieved by dispatch optimization of emergency power supplies for the distribution network.A composite resilience index considering recovery energy and recovery time of important loads at the same time is adopted to measure the effectiveness of resilience improvement for distribution network. Finally, feasibility and effectiveness of the strategy proposed for distribution network resilience improvement are verified with a water project distribution network.The results show that the proposed strategy can improve the resilience of distribution network in water project.
