Modelling and Performance Analysis of 2×2 Asymmetrical Quadrapule Micro-optical Ring Resonator as an Optical Filter

Four asymmetrical rings create a micro-optical ring resonator (MORR) with multiple input-output ports (2 × 2). The delay line method mathematically simulates the proposed structure in the Z-domain. The transfer functions are calculated using Mason’s gain formula for various output buses. Simulation analyses are conducted in MATLAB. The performance parameters for this structure are also presented graphically and produce a better result with negligible crosstalk. Optisystem 20 uses an eye diagram analyser to simulate and create a noise-free model. The suggested structure has a high Q-factor with negligible BER (bit error rate) and a large (free spectral range) FSR with minimal crosstalk. As a result, systems are less distorted and can support a broad range of communication channels.
