Non Invasive Glucose Detection Using a Triple-Pole CSRR Sensor

In this paper, a novel triple pole Complementary split ring resonator with square shaped (TP-CSRR) has been designed for the non-invasive method of glucose checking. The proposed sensor is placed on top of an FR4 dielectric substrate. The sensor elements are excited via a coupled 50-ohm microstrip line etched on the bottom side of the substrate. In this proposed sensor, the thumb will be placed on the resonator which causes changes in input impedance which is proportional to the change of the blood permittivity on different glucose concentrations. When the thumb is placed on the sensor there will be a shift in the resonance frequency. The sensor was simulated on Ansoft HFSS simulation software. The 3D electromagnetic model of the thumb has also been simulated using a Cole-Cole model. A shift of the resonant frequency is observed as the concentration of glucose gets higher.
