Improvement of the Two Adaptive Thresholds Based on Covariance Absolute Value (ITATCAV)

The problem of the spectrum is scarcity, and to solve it, cognitive radio was used. The main component of cognitive radio is the sensing of the spectrum. There are several ways to know the sensitivity of the spectrum, each of which has its advantages and disadvantages. In this paper, we improve the method of Two Adaptive Thresholds based on the Covariance Matrix (TATCAV) by reducing the overlap between the licensed user and the unlicensed user. The outcomes of the simulations with Matlab 2021b demonstrate an improvement in the detection probability values. Where the value of = 99.72% at smoothing factor L=2 and constant false alarm rate (CFAR)for the proposed method, and =95.2 for TTCAV when L = 8 and = 0.1, = 0.5, both at SNR=-17 under noise uncertainty = 2 dB, Additive White Gaussian Noise (AWGN), and Binary Phase Shift Keying modulation BPSK. According to the simulation, the results are better after using the proposed techniques.
