Forecasting Air Pollution for Environment and Good Health Using Artificial Intelligence

The rapid development of industrial and technical progress has risen due to the excessive use of resources that are not sustainable, which has hazardous air pollution with consequences on the environment and well-being. Millions of human beings around the globe are impacted by pollution in the air, an important environmental problem. It results from a number of factors such as natural phenomena like wildfires and volcanic eruptions, as well as human activities such as transportation, industry, and energy production. Among these sources, vehicular and industrial processes are the major contributors to air pollution across the globe. Air pollution can affect neurological functions and various parts of the body such as respiratory, cardiovascular, liver, and kidney. This research paper focuses on the utilization of Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques for forecasting air pollution, aiming to mitigate its adverse effects on the environment and promote human well-being. The research evaluates the performance of different AI models using key metrics evaluation error indexes, including R2, RMSE, MAE, and MAPE. The findings demonstrate that the hybrid AI models achieve significantly higher accuracy in air pollution forecasting and early-warning systems, leading to improved mitigation strategies for reducing pollution levels and safeguarding the environment and human health.
