Systematic Literature Review : Applications of Vehicle Simulator

In recent years, vehicle simulator has become a popular tool in the automotive industry. A vehicle simulator offers a risk-free, realistic, and controlled environment that can be used for several purposes such as training, development or prototyping, and for research purposes. This systematic literature review is conducted to provide an overview of vehicle simulator applications. In this paper, we gather various implementations of vehicle simulators to dissect what devices are used, the purposes or application contexts, and the evaluation methods employed. The results indicate that Virtual Reality devices are predominantly used, with the majority of Driving Simulator applications geared towards research purposes. Additionally, the most frequently employed evaluation method is the most used algorithm.
