Energy Storage Planning Method to Improve the Resiliency of Distribution Network Under Disaster Weather

At present, the energy storage configuration in the distribution network usually considers economic factors such as loss reduction and arbitrage, and less considers the use of energy storage to improve the safe operation of the distribution network in disaster weather, and the energy storage configuration planning needs comprehensive optimization. In this paper, an energy storage planning method is proposed to improve the resiliency of the distribution network under severe weather conditions. With the access point, capacity and operation mode of the energy storage device under different weather scenarios as the decision variables, and the lowest investment and operation cost of the distribution network as the objective function, a mixed integer programming model of energy storage configuration is constructed. An example of IEEE-33 node system is taken to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method. This approach enables the energy storage to flexibly respond to different operation scenarios of the distribution network, and maximize its potential to participate in the safe and economic operation of the distribution network in normal, severe and extreme weather.
