Design of Cloud Computing System for Radio Frequencies Monitoring

Cloud computing for Radio Frequency Monitoring (RFM) systems is proposed as a tool for the protection of wireless communication, starting from the control of the Radio Frequency (RF) spectrum usage to the checks of the radio environment in order to scan for illegal radio sources. This paper presents a cloud RFM system which is a huge network of connecting radio communication protection equipment such as direction-finding (DF) systems, and spectrum measurement, based on cloud computing enabling instantaneous monitoring. The proposed system implementation by MATLAB considers various ways such as designing cloud computing, enhancing the performance of DF algorithms, and designing different techniques of the geographic-distributed RFM equipment. The system work starts from the monitoring center that displays all the RFM stations for specific radio emission sources (RES) and shares all harvested data for RFM stations with cloud computing for monitoring and tracking RES. The system test considers the three tracking algorithms for RES which are MUSIC, ROOT-MUSIC, and ROOT-weighted space fitting (WSF), as well as the simulation evaluates the tracking accuracy in the case of minimum number of RFM used and static and moving RES. According to results, the instanton's tracking operation was satisfied by cloud computing, WSF algorithm has proving error distance 10m from real position of RES and two stations with cloud able for tracking static and moving RES.
