Review and Discussion of Recent Codes for Inverter-Based RESs and PPMs Under Grid Voltage Sag Conditions

Grid codes evolve to address emerging challenges posed by the increasing integration of Renewable Energy Sources (RESs). This paper discusses voltage sag incidents and common classification approaches. It also offers a concise overview of the latest European grid codes governing inverter-based RESs and power generators connected asynchronously (Power Park Modules) during voltage sag occurrences. To assess the power system's performance in unbalanced voltage sag situations, we propose a control strategy inspired by recent German grid codes. Simulation outcomes substantiate the power system's ability to provide voltage support when employing the proposed control strategy.
