An Optimization Design System of Medium Frequency Transformer with Non-Ideal Geometry Structure

In the region of electrified transportation, applications such as electric vehicles and high-speed trains have created a demand for miniaturization of power conversion devices. Magnetic components, as important parts of power conversion devices, face challenges in accurately analyzing performance parameters such as efficiency due to increased operating frequency. Additionally, the increase in power density exacerbates heat dissipation issues. To address these challenges, three analytical models are proposed in this paper: one for analyzing leakage inductance of medium frequency transformers (MFTs), another for analyzing winding losses, and the third for steady-state temperature rise analysis. These models exhibit fast calculation speed and high accuracy. Furthermore, based on these analytical models, a transformer optimization design system is proposed that offers fast computation speed and high accuracy. Finally, the accuracy of the proposed analytical models and optimization design system is verified by experiments and simulations.
