Solar Powered Greenhouse for Smart Agriculture

The agriculture sector is critical to feeding the world’s growing population; however, the agriculture industry faces numerous challenges. Modern farming solves this problem by implementing automatic agrivoltaic farming. Solar-powered greenhouses, as an example of agrivoltaic implementation, demonstrate crop yield capability and an easy-to-maintain system. Furthermore, a greenhouse equipped with an intelligent monitoring system saves energy and reduces emissions. Simultaneously, the smart monitoring system can predict extreme greenhouse conditions, reduce diseases and insect pests, reduce pesticide and fertilizer use, and provide high-quality food. Researchers are becoming increasingly interested in greenhouse monitoring systems, but successfully putting them into production remains a significant challenge due to various disturbance in real application. This paper aims to conduct a systematic review of the smart IoT monitor greenhouse system, model the energy transfer, and investigate the overall greenhouse monitoring system design. This paper shows the case solar-powered greenhouse concept related to the implementation of renewable energy for a better tomorrow.
