An Efficient IoT based Real Time Smart Trash Separation Bin Model for Urban Areas using LabVIEW

In the recent past, due to the fast increase in the growth of the population, creating an infectious environment for all the people living in this world. This unhygienic environment is due to the waste created by the citizens and not maintaining a healthy environment. In this paper, based on the latest advancement in automation through IOT technology, an efficient smart trash separation bin model for urban scenarios is proposed. The bin model includes two Ultrasonic sensors, one placed at the top of the dustbin for automatic opening and closing of the dustbin cap based on hand gesture. Another ultrasonic sensor is placed inside the dustbin, under the cap which will measure the level of garbage present in the dustbin based on the threshold level set initially and avoids the no interference from human work. In addition, the proposed model consists of an ESP32 module, observes the input which retrieves from various sensors like, Ultrasonic sensor, gas sensor and temperature sensor to transfer the data through the database real-time server. Further, NodeMCU is programmed to send the status of the dustbin to the cloud.
