Harnessing Artificial Intelligence for Precise Pulmonary Disease Diagnosis

Our study explores the possibility of deep learning techniques for pulmonary disease identification using the vast dataset for NIH chest X-rays, which is full of a wide range of anterior chest X-ray images annotated with various pulmonary disorders. Convolutional neural networks (CNNs), transfer learning paradigms, and ensemble models are just a few of the cutting-edge deep learning frameworks that we employ. Careful data preprocessing, image augmentation techniques and hyperparameter optimization strengthen these models. Our analysis carefully assesses model performance, relying on benchmark performance indicators such as accuracy, precision, recall, and the F1-score. The industry-leading deep learning model shows exceptional skill in the accurate diagnosis of various pathologies, frequently outperforming the diagnostic prowess of conventional machine learning approaches and, intriguingly, occasionally even outperforming the diagnostic skills of skilled radiologists. The key finding of this research study, which signals developments in the field of medical image analysis, is that deep learning plays a crucial role in automating the identification of pulmonary disorders. It highlights the need for additional research projects in this area, which could change how pulmonary diseases are diagnosed and treated in the future.
