Fault Isolation Control Method of DC Series-Parallel Offshore Wind Farm

Wind farms using DC aggregation and DC transmission mode are an effective solution for the development of offshore wind power in the direction of located in the deep sea and large-scale. However, after the failure of the full DC wind farm, the fault spread speed is very fast, and the impact is wide, there is still no realistic project to refer to. It is necessary to study the fault isolation control method of full-DC offshore wind farms. In this paper, for the promising series-parallel offshore wind farm, the corresponding fault isolation control method is proposed depending on the different locations of the fault. A small series-parallel offshore wind farm is built in PSCAD/EMTDC and the fault simulation is carried out, which verifies the feasibility of the proposed fault isolation control method.
