Study on Dynamic Linked Library Modeling and Verification Methods of Photovoltaic Inverter Based on RT-Lab

Renewable energy is becoming more common as the global population grows. Solar power is among the most commonly utilized renewable energies. Photovoltaic (PV) inverters convert the DC power produced by the solar panels into AC power injecting to the power grid. Therefore, inverters are an essential component of solar power systems. Digital simulation techniques have been used to evaluate the quality of the PV inverter to ensure that it meets design specifications. The grid adaptability, active power control, reactive power control and voltage ride-through ability are four critical tests that a digital simulation model of a PV inverter must pass. In this paper, we have discussed the methods of modeling and verification of PV inverters with the use of dynamic linked library (DLL) model on RT-Lab platform. The paper outlines the modeling framework that was designed to perform DLL verification of PV inverters, along with the verification test items and their criteria for passing.
