Design and IoT Implementation of Smart Greenhouse for Urban Agriculture

Due to the growing demand for sustainable and localised food production in urban areas, urban agriculture technology has acquired substantial attention and relevance in recent years. Traditional agricultural resources such as fertile soil, good water, and ample sunlight are frequently unavailable in urban areas. In this work, we suggest a smart greenhouse that is accessible to every household and will alter the way people experience and eat by enabling home horticulture. We employ a number of sensors, including the DHT11, soil moisture, and UV light sensors, to monitor crucial variables such as UV light exposure, soil moisture levels, temperature, and humidity in order to provide perfect growing conditions for plants. These measures are critical in the development of an intelligent and responsive system. The device contains an ultrasonic mist generator and a UV light source with wavelengths matched to the specified plant species. A rigorous 7 -day analysis of plant activity was conducted as part of the extensive testing and tuning that went into the successful production of the smart greenhouse prototype. The information gathered during this time period allowed us to characterize the plant requirements for optimal growth in our smart greenhouse system. This technology can help safeguard future food security by allowing people to grow their own fresh crops.
