VIS Spectrometer Based on the Diffraction Grating and Raspberry Pi Camera

The present paper presents developing and implementing a compact spectrometer that captures and analyzes wavelengths in the visible light spectrum [400-700]nm. The diffraction of the rays is carried out using a holographic diffraction grating with 1000 lines/mm. The fragmented spectrum is captured with an 8MP CMOS camera and then analyzed and processed using a Raspberry Pi 3B development board. The real-time display of the results is facilitated by two methods: through a display installed on the device or by connecting an external monitor to the HDMI port of the development board. Communication with the user is carried out through a graphical interface made in Python, through which the user chooses the display mode, the calibration procedure, and the analysis of the captures. The developed spectrometer allows easy connection of the light sources to be analyzed using an optical connector sleeve connector.
