Practice Makes Perfect

In this chapter, we present eight interesting exercises. Some are developed with an MS Excel® spreadsheet, and others with the Python programming language. These exercises are useful for not only understanding the algorithms that underlie the mathematical decision‐making models, but also to provide a guideline for introducing the Systems Engineering methodologies in other applications that you find useful to develop for your needs. The Systems Engineering methodologies must balance many factors when making decisions, and therefore the reader must be able to think at a level that encompasses all the features of the system.
